Watching a family member or loved one struggle with problems is painful and can feel overwhelming at times. Indeed, this might be the toughest challenge your family ever faces. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that a lot of the phone calls we receive at Hope Centre Thailand are on behalf of a loved one. Our team is experienced in offering advice and support or you can follow this link to our free family guide.

Due to increasing flight ticket prices we now offer a 10% discount on all bookings to help. Hope has a minimum stay of at least one month depending on your specific issue.

Natalie or Parice will give you the total price for your personal treatment package including any discounts. For all queries, please use the contact form on this page.

…”My sister Mel came to Hope in April this year, initially for 2 months but then decided to stay for the 3 months. As awful as it sounds, I thought she would end up dead before she would be clean. She is now celebrating 5 months and 12 days clean and is finally enjoying life. Hope has given her the tools and techniques to deal with life in a healthy way. Mel often speaks of how incredibly supportive the staff were, and how she made so many friends that will be friends for life. Mel's therapist has been amazing not only with Mel but with our family, providing us with information for assisting Mel with aftercare and her recovery. Sophie has been kind enough to answer any questions via email that I have had since Mel has left. When Mel spoke about going to Hope and reading some reviews, I felt that it all seemed a bit too good to be true, but it has been as good as we hoped. Thank you to all the staff at Hope for supporting my sister and allowing her to become the person that she is today!”

”Wow where do I even start what an amazing place, I spent 3 months at Hope and it really has saved my life and showed me life’s worth living again. The whole staff team are all wonderful and played a massive part in my treatment here, Danny and Adam in the office are top guys, every Counselor is very supportive and caring. The counselling was one of the parts I thought I would of found hard when coming to hope as I find it hard to trust people. My Counselor was Nicky, I can’t say one bad word about him he really was amazing , we done a lot of good work together and he helped me unravel all of my problems and help me understand my addictions and what to do when I leave here to be successful in recovery. I can’t thank him enough! Alon and the kitchen staff are all really lovely kind hearted people and they helped me also massively , I was going on runs every week with them and have created amazing memories. I met some amazing people while at hope and have made friends for a life time. The program is really good and enjoyable and is such a nice healthy routine to get you back on track and re invent yourself. The whole place is amazing with the gym and swimming pool and other activities, and with the weekly outings to the beach and local restaurant. I came here lost in life and since being at hope I have found a new me which loves life. I have so much gratitude for hope and I can’t thank the place enough.”

…”I spent 2 months at Hope and went through tremendous personal growth there. My counselor, Vinny, got to know me well and led me on a journey (not easy) back to my joyful authentic self. Alon is amazing and always sharing her love with others. Her healing guided meditations were highlights for sure. The daily group counseling sessions offered me a great chance to connect with others and I enjoyed the weekly outings. Danny is a wiz at helping folks navigate the Hope experience. The food was so so delicious with tons of variety. I appreciate Hope’s commitment to overall health. My mind, body, and soul are so grateful!”

…"My experience at Hope was one of the greatest decision for my life! I am an expat from the United States, wife and mother of two, and have been in Thailand for 13 years (at the time I entered). Suffered from PPD, depression, anxiety disorders and alchxxxxx. Hope gave me and my family, exactly as they promote and promise. Hope! Faith and confidence in myself and to a Higher Power I had simply forgotten to rely on. The program with the campus is just hard enough to challenge oneself, as well as keep one striving to achieve a betterment. The campus faculty had set up the learning and focus on becoming not just clean, but gave me the opportunity to realize my own accountability of the life I had lead. The entire experience opened a floodgate of emotions and in entered love and kindness, beyond what I already knew and felt around me. Hope gave me a gift, that I then gifted myself. A gift of freedom from the clenches of my own self will, from the power of my addiction/symptom to alcohol. Which then trickled to the lives of family, and of friends in my life. This concept goes for those suffering from the clenches of any other substance, because, the fact is, my addictions does not segregate me from those with other addictions. Hope brings those, us, together to resolute a common enemy; and that is ourselves. The person suffering inside, underneath whatever one may need to recover from.”

…”My experience of Hope was amazing! Such a wonderful place.. from the kitchen staff to the support staff, interns and counselors, everybody was so kind, caring and super helpful. The food was amazing, and the therapy was nothing short of remarkable. Hope helped me to see who I want to be in the future and the type of person I was previously, with the tools and the ability to change” I’m really grateful for my experience at Hope. I came in expecting to do a short month because I wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into, but I extended for 3 months within my first two weeks. I’ll start with the food because it deserves some praise. Three full buffet style meals a day, each cooked on site with fresh ingredients. The choices are different day to day so it really helps in a long term stay. There’s something for everyone which is really nice and it was so good I’ll admit that I would go for thirds at times. I appreciated the freedoms given to those who stayed more than 6 weeks. If you put the work in and show you’re serious, you can be trusted to go out for dinners with some of your peers from a selection of restaurants. It was nice being treated like an adult and being given trust after putting a lot of effort into the program. There are many choices of weekend outings like a dog cafe, beach, spa, etc. which are fun to do. You’re also given two massages a week which I highly suggest you use. Last but definitely not least, the counseling. I had Michael as my counselor, and I believe he truly changed my life. He cares a lot about the clients there, and if you’re lucky enough to have him as your counselor I promise you’ll get out what you put in. I went in without any idea who I really was or wanted to do in life, and over the course of 3 months we worked closely together to try and find some solutions. Thanks for helping me turn my life around”

Hope is an amazing place, helped me get the longest time sober I've had since I was 13, the site is amazing, staff is kind and considerate. Counselors are top tier, I had Nic as a counselor and she helped me grow more than I ever thought I could in 3 months, she is an accountability friend and such a smart caring person who knows how to directly tackle the problems that need to be fixed. Best counselor I have ever had. Food is awesome but there is not much change from day to day, field trips are awesome and all around was such an amazing experience that I am glad I got to be a part of!.

…”I spent 90 days at Hope and it taught me a lot of self awareness about my struggles. I had spent 30 days in the uk several years ago at another treatment facility, but the option to pay half the price, experience the sun and culture of Asia, and be surrounded by beautiful scenery was a no brainer. It exceeded my initial expectations, mainly down to the work the councillors put in for all of us, even outside of 121s and therapy. Dan was exceptional in his dedication to 12 step work and personal development and I was grateful to spend my time with him learning about myself and who I am. If you truly want to live life on life's terms and see light at the end of the tunnel, I highly recommend spending 90 days at Hope. The groups are deep, well thought out and run professionally. You will make some lifelong connections, but most importantly, you will connect with yourself again - you just need to put the work in. THANK YOU to all the staff who go out of their way each day to help those struggling, it's you who make Hope a successful treatment facility”

…“I have just completed 6 weeks at Hope and am feeling very grateful to have been able to come to such a safe, caring and comfortable environment to recover in. The facilities here are great; the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The site itself is large and spread out so never feels crowded. There's a pool, steam room and massage room for relaxing in your free time. For getting fit and healthy the gym facilities are good; theres also a muay thai gym with a professional coach as well as daily activities including running, cycling, hiking, yoga and sports. All the staff at Hope are extremely caring and sympathetic to your circumstances and are understanding of everyones specific needs. From the councillors to the cleaning staff, you feel everyone really is looking after you. You are assigned a specific councillor on arrival who will be your main point of contact for your stay. I need to specifically mention my councillor Michael who understood me, cared about me and also pushed me when needed, the progress I feel in myself after only 6 weeks here is amazing and the credit goes to him. The food here needs mentioning separately, the kitchen team works tirelessly to deliver 3 buffet style meals a day, the food served is healthy and delicious; fresh fruit, cereals, eggs and toast for breakfast, then a combination of Asian and Western cuisine for lunch and dinner. A choice of fresh fish, seafood, meats are served with rice, noodle dishes, potatoes, pasta, salads and loads of veggies. With lots of home favourites like pizzas or burgers also. It's varied every day and theres always more than enough if you're hungry. The program itself was great for me, they mix a lot of different methods, CBT exercises and group activities, physical exercise along with mindfulness techniques such as meditation. The variation keeps you engaged and interested and they never push anything on you that you're not keen on. If you're reading this and are afraid to make the step into rehab, as I was for years, don't wait any longer it could save your life”

…”Hope changed my life! This center was my 5th in 10 years, and I can honestly say that, this was THE one that truly changed me. Nic, my counselor unlocked my past, helped me heal and grieve my past, I have no words to describe how impactful she has been in my transformation. I was also looking for some mindfulness, which I found with Paul, the mindfulness guru. He gave me the tools I was searching for a long time; to find inner peace. I practice mindfulness every day and apply his meditation techniques and teachings. That works for me. Hope’s approach is truly unique, the way they developed the CBT is truly working, they just don’t teach you what a book says, but truly use innovative approaches so it sinks into your brain, they make you think so you can truly make breakthroughs. To the entire Hope team, thank you. I’m so deeply grateful”

…”From Mind Altering to Life Changing. It is hard not to overstate the impact my time at Hope has had on my life without sounding like I’m exaggerating. I will be honest and say I knew my life was a mess: that I had addiction problems, that I had recently lost my mother, uncle and aunt, marriage. that I was unhappy and on extensive medicaxxxxx to "manage" depression, anxiety etc. And so on. I desperately needed help and Hope not only gave me that, through its programme of practical, spiritual and physical support and development, it allowed me to not only recover but find out that I had never been truly “happy”. bad relationships, all of these were problems were not the main problem. I was. And I had no idea why until got recommended by a friend who'd been to Hope Rehab and dug deep with my extraordinary councillor Michael. Michael is not your obvious or “typical” councilor, shrink, therapist or whatever like I’ve had in the past. They haven’t worked. He has changed my life. In 3 months, Michael together with the incredible team/staff at Hope Rehab, with special gratitude to councilors Nic and Paul, have given me not just my old life back (I didn’t realise what an unenjoyable life I had before),they have given me a new, far better life. The Thailand setting and environment is beautiful, food incredible, every day (I hadn’t eaten much for 6 months!), all the staff: Kitchen, admin, PT, counselling etc. really care and work hard. And it’s a hell of a lot nicer and cheaper than equivalent places in the UK and most of the world. I’m not being paid to write this, nothing more than I’m just incredibly grateful: Sitting on the plane, heading back to winter in the UK but bright and optimistic about my future. Thank you everyone at Hope and in particular Michael, I owe you my life and I’m genuinely excited about my future”

…”When I arrived at Hope 3 months ago, addictions had ruled my life for well over a decade, I was suicidal, completely broken physically, mentally and emotionally. I was at rock bottom. The staff and clients picked me up and showed me love/support from day 1. A testament to the culture at Hope. Originally staying for 4 weeks, I extended my stay for the full 3 month programme - a choice I feel has ultimately saved my life, an easy one to make seeing the progress everyone around me and myself were making daily. My physical and mental health have both improved dramatically, I now want to live again and appreciate having my quality of life back. A complete reset. The staff at Hope, programme diversity, culture instilled into clients from the first day, true emphasis on mindfulness and physical exercise are what separates it from other centers.I want to thank all of the staff, from the kitchen/support staff to the counsellors for their support, kindness and hard work. I want to personally thank my counsellor for his compassion, brutal honesty and time he invested into me over my stay. I made more progress here with him, working as a partnership over 3 months than I have over the past decade of counselling in the UK. I honestly cant fault a single part of the staffing team, programme structure and the experience in general. I have met some amazing people here and done some amazing things, but most of all I leave here with a new found confidence that I can truly live sober for the rest of my life. If you are thinking of going to Hope then be aware that it’s not the place for an easy ride or a holiday abroad, the personal work is hard, the days are long and it requires 100% commitment. The reward at the end is truly worth it. My advice is to book it, put the work in and not look back. Thank you HOPE rehab Thailand"

…”HOPE... the name says a lot! It is almost a month since I have returned from a 3 months stay at Hope Center in Thailand. I guess it was a last ditch effort and it took a little bit of Hope and a pinch of faith to get there. I am so glad l did. I wasn't the easiest person to deal with when I first arrived. I was skeptical, full of fear, distrustful and had a few walls up. From those first moments I soon realized that I was in the safest place I had ever been. Every single counsellor and staff member at Hope showed me genuine care, warmth, encouragement, and grace. The setting is beautiful. There is a lot of hard work to do, based on relevant and contemporary research. There is also a very strong focus on wellness and modelling a healthy, fulfilling life outside of addictions. The practices of gratitude, mindfulness, self care (e.g. massages, healthy eating, exercise etc.) These are practices I continue each day. "We are stronger together". I was also introduced to Dhama Recovery and for me, this has been a breakthrough. I fully connect with it. It makes sense to me. I cannot end this review without mentioning my beautiful, amazing and congruent councilor, Nic. In our 2 one-on-one sessions a week I felt honestly seen and heard for the first time in my life. I was able to open up and face the confusion and darkness I had been suffocating in. It was challenging, at times hilarious and always real. Nic, thank you. You are a true gift to Hope and with your way of being and your knowledge, you truly helped me turn my life around from not knowing how to continue on, to waking up each morning believing that I can trust myself to handle whatever comes my way - the good, the bad and the ugly. Thank you everyone. I cannot recommend Hope highly enough. For those people who decide to take that leap of faith be ready to be open, vulnerable, willing to learn and give it your all. You will get out of it what you put in. Good luck on your journey”

Secret Beach

Hope is uniquely situated with beautiful quiet beaches around us. We take advantage of our special location and spend weekends at Secret beach or on the island of Koh Srichang for recovery meetings, lunch and fun. This wonderful island is a ferry ride in the middle of the Bay of Thailand. It has a slow pace taking you back to old Thailand with its rustic charm and lack of development.

We visit Temples as well as the Beaches. The multi-level cave temple perched high on the cliff with breathtaking views and a cute funicular train taking you to the top. The monks are happy to show you around and offer you a blessing.

THE HOPE TEAM

Hope has a multidisciplinary team of over 50 staff, this includes Psychologists, Therapists, Nurses, fitness, Yoga & Meditation coaches, Cooks, Cleaners, Maintenance, Marketing, and Administration staff. Although the monthly cost of having such a large and professional team is by far our biggest expense we believe its essential for our clients success. Hope operates due to our passionate and dedicated staff of which some are listed on our Team page.

Kitchen & Domestic Team

Say Hello to our wonderful domestic staff; the girls are all from the same remote village up in the hills on the border with Burma. They cook all your tasty food, make sure your room is clean and fresh, and are very gentle and kind people.

Intern Training Program

Hope has an ongoing intern training and education program with several major universities across the globe. We select qualified candidates 10 times a year. The candidates work along side our team and clients to get practical experience of modern treatment methods. Hope invites applications from all individuals studying related subjects. The 10 places includes accommodation and food, we have a minimum commitment of 3 – 6 months.

How long should I stay?

Hope Centre offers 30-day intensive treatment programs; that is to say, we pack in a lot of activities, therapy and learning into one month. This is because many people simply do not have the option to stay longer. For some types of addictions we require a minimum 2-month commitment due to the need for longer therapy and recovery periods. For clients with the time and the resources, we do recommend staying as long as possible. This is why Hope has developed a second stage program.

"Long-term commitment for long-term success."

As we all know, many types of compulsive disorders aren’t conquered overnight. For many, it took time to develop the bad habits and behaviours. Therefore, it stands to reason that it will take time to change those habits and behaviours.

A quick fix is a “flight to health” and rarely achieves lasting results. All addictions, dependencies, and anxiety disorders are consuming and powerful conditions. However, they are treatable with the right help and program.

It is after the initial adjustment period that you really begin to deal with underlying emotional and social conflicts. With this in mind, it is important to allow for up to 3 months therapy and recovery time to make positive change.

Trauma Therapy

At Hope many clients report some sort of traumatic experience in their lives. These events tend to affect and their lives and mental health. At Hope we validate all traumatic experiences. We treat veterans, abuse victims, clients with troubling childhoods, grief, physical injury, and anything that has a lasting impact.

Customizing your treatment to include specific trauma therapy sessions is proven to help. Even simply living in our community and socializing rather than isolating and feeling alone with these issues.

SMART Recovery Meetings

SMART – Self-Management and Recovery Training. SMART is a global support organization helping people move forward in life after treatment. The tools and techniques used are taken from cognitive behavioral therapy and focus on self-empowerment and accepting personal responsibility.

SMART is a useful community-based aftercare and relapse prevention resource. Hope hosts weekly SMART meetings for our clients to participate in. There are over 2,000 SMART Recovery meetings worldwide and this number is growing.

The Journey Continues

Next steps after Hope: Options include attending one of our affiliated long-term recovery houses. The financial cost is relatively low, especially compared to returning home. Located in Chiang Mai Northern Thailand and the beautiful Bang Saray Beach area. For many clients coming to Hope is just the beginning of their Recovery journey in Thailand.

You can stay and live together in a supportive environment and build a new life. Activities include Community-living, Volunteering, Dog sanctuary, Orphanage, Teaching English TEFL….

Women’s Program

Hope is a safe place for everyone including women. Hope’s clients come from all walks of life, culture, sexuality, gender and ages. This is important for a realistic environment. Think of the group as an extended family where you can learn from each other.

We understand some women face unique challenges in overcoming addiction issues. At Hope we have many female counsellors and provide Woman’s recovery groups and activities.

Muay Thai Boxing

Fight your way out of many issues, stress and mental health with Muay Thai Boxing! At Hope you can train the famous ‘art of the eight limbs’ 6 days a week.

Our experienced coach Yuth will help you get a grasp of the basic kicks & punches. If you enjoy Muay Thai you’ll get the chance to advance your skills.

Food at Hope

Healthy eating is a key part of the program at Hope Centre. We recently expanded and renovated our kitchen. We did this because we recognise the importance of mealtimes for the community. Clients need to work hard to get the most out of their time with us, so a suitable diet gives them energy to do what is needed. The food is a fusion of Western and Asian cuisine. Please note – to keep your treatment costs at a minimum we cannot provide different or individual diets for any reason.

Evidence-based treatment that works

We understand your current problems are just a small part of who you are. At Hope we practice a holistic approach to give our clients the best chance of success. That means we look at the whole person and that often also includes Depression, Anxiety issues, Trauma, Personality Disorders, PTSD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Self-Medicating, childhood struggles. Most of the clients who attend the Hope Center in Thailand suffer from depression and/or anxiety. Both are common experiences for most human beings at some point in their lives. Doctors often refer to this as ‘concurrent disorders’ or ‘dual diagnosis’.

Our vision for you involves more than the cessation of your anxiety and dependencies. We offer a community where you can begin to transform into the person you deserve to be – the person you want to be. This specialised approach is suitable for all patterns and types of compulsive habits and addictions.
